Cue "Ride of the Valkyries"

Per request, photos of the Chicago pillow fight, a phalanx of tourists riding Segways, and the Art Institute.

In print again (sort of)

One of my photos of the Sarah Duke Gardens at Duke University appears in the new edition of Moon Handbooks’ North Carolina guidebook by Sarah Bryan. Alas if I start looking at the free copy of the guidebook I received I may get homesick* for the Carolinas.

* I’m not sure one can get “homesick” for a place that hasn’t really ever been a permanent home, although I’d certainly be happy to go live there—for the right price, of course.

Photos by request

Alfie, as one of my sole remaining commenters, requested that I post the following photo.

My other pictures from Saturday are here.

Da Zoo

A group of EITMers, including me, went to the zoo on Wednesday, and I took about a bazillion photos. It was fun, although I’m not sure I’ve recovered yet from the 4+ miles of walking I did that day (the bulk of it to and from the zoo from the northwest corner of the WashU campus).

Naughty Pirates

Mom sent me a forwarded email with this photo attached:

Pirates / Knocked Up / Shrek

It really speaks for itself…

Update: Dad sends this link from Ocala in a similar vein.

I’ve now uploaded two sets of photos from Daytona: one general set and a separate set from the Daytona Cubs game I saw Wednesday night.

As promised

All the photos from Fort Collins are now up at Flickr; here are two of my favorites:

Our table at the AP Reading
Our table gathered at the end of the reading.

Stoner Construction
After Mark took this photo, some dude on a bike rode by and called us druggies.

Too many photos

I just uploaded a bunch of photos from my hooding ceremony last year and a family picnic to Flickr; most of the pictures were taken by my dad on his 35mm film camera. Hope you enjoy them…

Afternoon delight

I decided to go out for a drive today down the newly opened stretch of the Trace around Jackson, and ended up taking a bunch of photos (although none of the Trace itself). The highlight of the set, by far, is my favorite billboard in Jackson:

Cellular South billboard

Of course, there are lots of others in my Flickr photostream, mostly from downtown Jackson but also a few from Raymond, the other county seat of Hinds County.

Mo’ photos

I noticed yesterday, while engaged in an ultimately futile effort to switch the hard drive on which Windows XP is installed on my Athlon XP box, that I had a bunch of photos on the hard drive from spring 2001, from just after I bought my now-aging Olympus C-2100UZ.

So now they’re on Flickr: vacation (well, actually, Western Political Science Association conference) photos from Hoover Dam in March 2001, and a few Ole Miss photos from April 2001 that I took for some website work. Hope you enjoy them!
