U.S. News clearly unaware of my hiring

SLU has moved up a few spots in the latest U.S. News rankings of the best national universities to 77th, in a four-way tie with Virginia Tech, UC-Boulder, and Stevens Institute of Technology.

In a completely unrelated development, the Spreadsheet of Death™ 2007 edition is up to around 30 entries already.

Those rankings were clearly compiled before you joined the faculty. I remember Stryker stock going up like $1.75 my first day; it took a few days for Wall Street to realize what they had hired.

Hmm. But there’s further evidence that I am collegiate poison… Duke dropped from 5th to 8th while I was there.

Next summer’s rankings will be the true indicator. If SLU is 138th and Duke is 4th, you truly are “teh suck.”
