Come fly away

Tomorrow morning I head to Fort Collins (via DFW and Denver) to spend a week grading exams. Hopefully that’s not quite as bad as it sounds like it could be.

Actually, I’m dreading the ten hours on airplanes more than the seven days of grading. You’d think someone would have a non-stop flight from Raleigh to Denver, but no such luck.

Yes, we lost the RDU-DEN nonstop with the demise of Midway. It did operate briefly once a day on United Express (yeaaa, 3 1/2 flight on a commuter jet), but we are now stuck with connecting via somewhere. Good luck and happy travels.

To be honest, I’d rather have spent 3.5 hours on a commuter jet than the 6 or 7 I spent end-to-end on American.

I am much looking forward to being in St. Louis with non-stop flights to most any decent-sized place (at least east of the Rockies) I’d need to go.
