Muy muy no es olympioso

I’m afraid I don’t have the Olympic Fever, which is just as well as I much enjoyed the wrap-up of Arrested Development on Fox Friday night (in glorious HD), including Gary Cole’s uncredited cameo as the taxi driver in Iraq, along with everything coming full-circle, the in-jokes, Justine Bateman, Pete Rose, and the shocking revelations.

The good news for those of you who are fans of Michael Cera (George Michael) and Alia Shawkat (Maeby): they show up on Veronica Mars next month for an episode.

Friday night I opted for The Day the Earth Stood Still and the Boris Karloff version of The Mummy, both of which were showing on AMC that evening. Don’t know which of us were more entertained, but I’m sure we both spent our time better than if we’d watched the Olympics.

Actually, I wish they’d put the Summer and Winter Games back in the same year (instead of alternating them every two years), so I could practice my Olympic avoidance twice every four years instead of once every two years; it’d be less intrusive that way.

Arrested Development is such a great show. I can’t wait until the latest season comes out on DVD.

Pete Rose was the best. Go George Michael! Who cares about ice skating or skiing?
