Veep debate spin

Spin rule in effect.

I have to say this debate—at least, the part I saw of it, since I got home at 8:15 after letting class go early—was rather more enlightening than the Kerry-Bush snoozefest, perhaps because the IQ of each participant (including the moderator) was substantially higher than his or her predecessor’s. Overall I think Cheney did slightly better than Edwards, in part because he did a better job of answering the questions posed to him, and in part because Cheney had more new to say than Edwards, who spent much of the debate repeating the same talking points John Kerry used last week—I suspect relatively few voters who watched this debate failed to watch last week’s.
