Add a third group: anyone who tries to use the union goons as an excuse to excuse the father’s bad judgment, or vice-versa.
Also, the “union goon” looks suspiciously like a member of the family, as pictured in a family portrait found at Atrios and the Captain’s Quarters.

Brock: I saw the photos myself, and I’d have to say it’s fairly inconclusive (at least at these resolutions); the kid in the family photo looks pretty much like “J. Random White Guy” to me.
