Subliminal expat

Conrad fills in the gaps in reporting the Filipino government’s spineless capitulation to terrorists. As most sane observers predicted, copycat terrorists have emerged in the hopes of finding similar appeasers elsewhere—though the logic of kidnapping citizens of countries that aren’t even part of the occupation force escapes me.

The new terrorists’ demands are for their countries to stop doing business with Iraq. It’s economic, not military, now. Some claim this is a sign of our progress in Iraq.

Wow, that’s even stupider than I thought.

Then again, two weeks ago I would have said that anyone who thought kidnapping hostages would make a coalition member “go wobbly” was nuts.
