Eugene Volokh finds a shocking relationship between ice cream consumption and sex crimes. Fun with stats ensues.

Another interesting misuse of statistics is that the correlation between birth rates in New York and the migration patterns of storks is highly correlated and positive. I first saw this in New Ideas From Dead Economists.
