Offer'd

As of this morning, I have an offer for a tenure-track position (the one in Rams land, for those keeping score at home).

hoorah!!! Although, I had to google “rams” and “football” to figure out where the heck you are talking about….at least now I know the region.

Here’s hoping for competing offers…...

Congrats! Here’s hoping they give you a large enough window to balance competing offers!

Congrats! Now is where you tell them the conditions under which you’ll work for them.

congratulations, and may it be followed by another tt, so you can play them off each other.

Muchas gracias, all. But, much to my chagrin and disappointment, it looks like there may be no competing offers.

As to my leanings on this offer, this post may give some clues, particularly if you get the extra information that this position is not at a liberal arts college.

Congrats!

And tenure track jobs at liberal arts schools are hard to come by. Indeed, all tenure track jobs are. Absent a top tier degree and a boatload of pubs in major journals, damned near impossible.

Indeed, I was always amazed at the on-paper quality of the faculty at places I’d never heard of when I was doing academic job searches.

Congrats, Chris. As for the other, there’s always hope. But just remember the key phrase: tenure track.

Belated congratulations (using the holiday to catch up on my blogreading)!

IMHO, there are much worse places to be than Rams Land, though as a native of the area I’m probably biased.

If geography were the only consideration, I’d probably be there in a heartbeat.
