Meet the new boss, not quite the same as the old one

Well, the fat lady is now singing: with 90 of 95 precincts reporting, I’m ready to call this thing for Frank Melton.

I’m telling you Doc, your exit poll would have shown more support in the black community for Melton if you had done a precinct or two in Wards 2 and 3. When the final numbers become available Melton will have won without needing a single solitary vote out of Ward 1 (NE Jackson).

Yeah, I wish we’d gotten precincts in wards 2 & 3; unfortunately, I didn’t have enough students to go around (I really wanted them to work in pairs and in relatively short shifts… which limited me to fewer precincts than I wanted).
