Surely this and its ilk are a really bad put-on. Or John took the same bad acid trip that Sully took a couple of years earlier after Bush broke his heart over gay marriage; it’s not exactly easy to see the difference.
Then again, I’m sure he makes more in a week from BlogAds than I’ve seen in five years from Google Ads, so who am I to argue with success?

John was one of my first blogfriends. He’s a smart and passionate guy. I don’t like where his politics have headed, so I just hold my tongue when I see a post like that.
Still, I gotta wonder: if the “two-bit security guard” in question turns out to be a private military contractor, does anyone on the left (where Cole is now) have room to criticize McHenry at all for his callousness? They’ve been calling PMCs “bloody mercenaries” and worse for years now; “two-bit security guard” seems a step up from their rhetoric.
