The new Monday Night Football booth is Mike Tirico, Tony Kornheiser, and Joe Theismann, along with two sideline reporters (Michele Tafoya and Suzy Kolber); this apparently clears the way for Al Michaels to stay with John Madden as the latter moves to NBC‘s Sunday night broadcast. Say what you will about Tirico’s alleged personal sleaziness, but he’s a good play-by-play guy, and the idea of Mr. Tony on an open mike for three hours a week is entertaining in and of itself (even though this may require TK to start watching some sports again).
Speaking of Mr. Tony, one wonders if a rapprochment with ESPN Radio might be in the offing; either way, canning Eric Kusileus or Colin Cowherd (or preferably both) needs to be on the agenda.

Oh man, I agree with you on Cowherd, but I love Kuscelias (sp?).
Google claims “Eric Kuselias” as the correct spelling; I got the vowels mixed up, but positioned correctly at least!
I don’t dislike EK as much as Cowherd, but EK’s a bad solo act. With his brother, he was better, and he’s not terrible on that NFL Sunday show ESPN Radio does either.
As for MNF, I never really got all the hate for the booth guys on SNF—and most of the booth guys generally on all the networks. Except for the Thanksgiving nonsense (turkey, pies, turduckens, etc.) and player-honoring stupidity (the horse trailer, “all-Madden team”) that all of the announcers think they need to get in on, that is.
An exception: some of the college guys really get on my nerves. Fouts and Jackson are the worst booth in human history; I pity those who are Pac-10 fans and have to listen to these guys every week. And Bob Davie is no Mike Gottleib, or any other Gottleib for that matter.
