My life as meat

Well, I managed to survive eight quasi-interviews with representatives of various institutions, not to mention a long, but most enjoyable, night last night at The Green Mill jazz club. Now I’m taking a bit of a break in my hotel room, listening to the Ole Miss-Memphis game on the Internet and pondering some late dinner plans.

Speaking of Ole Miss, you can tell that Manning is gone. :) Just a little friendly ribbing from an intrastate rival that won their scrub game tonight.

Ah, I wouldn’t read too much into this one; the Rebels lost the game against Memphis last year with Manning. I’m still cautiously optimistic about what Spurlock can do against Alabama. And I really don’t think Ole Miss should have agreed to have C-USA referees (who blew a bunch of calls)—all non-conference games, in my opinion, should be officiated by a neutral crew.

Still, they should have won the stupid game. Sheesh.

Anyway, my first live football of the season is the “Backyard Brawl” Thursday night between Mississippi College and Millsaps at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Go Majors!
